+ Outlook Express Settings

The following is the process to set up our email service within Microsoft Outlook Express. The following dialogs are from Outlook Express 6.0.

  1. Select "Accounts..." under the tools menu in the main Outlook Express screen.
  2. Click the "Add" Button, then select "Mail.." on the popup menu. This will bring up the new account wizard.
  3. In the first screen of the wizard, enter your name or the name you would like other people to see when the receive a message from you under this account.
  4. In the next screen you will enter the email address given to you. When complete, click next.
  5. Set the incomming to
    pop.broadband-mn.com
    and the outgoing mail server to
    smtp.broadband-mn.com
    . When complete, click next.
  6. Your account name is your full email address and your password is the password given to you for email. When complete push Next and then push finish.
  7. At this point its not completly set up. SMTP Athentication needs to be turned on. Click the properties button with the new email account selected in the account list.
  8. In the resulting dialog, check the box "My server requires authentication" under the Servers tab. After authentication is turned on, click "OK" then close the accounts dialog.
  9. At this point set up is complete. Click the "Send/Recv" button to test your account settings.

If you receive errors.

  1. Check to make sure your username and password are correct. Your username is your full email address unless you have been told otherwise. Your password is case sensitive.
  2. Make sure you are currently connected to the internet by opening a browser and visiting a website.
  3. Go to https://email.broadband-mn.com/ to make sure you can access your account. To login, use your email as your username.
